Last updated: 27 May 2026. These terms govern your use of the Emissio platform operated by DJRD Ltd, registered in England and Wales. By using Emissio you agree to these terms.
Emissio is a carbon reporting platform operated by DJRD Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The platform provides self-reported carbon footprint calculations and report generation services for businesses of all sizes.
References to "we", "us" and "our" mean DJRD Ltd. References to "you" and "your" mean the individual or organisation using the Emissio platform.
Outputs means the carbon reports, calculations, and data generated by Emissio based on inputs you provide and the methodologies we apply.
Operational Data means the energy consumption, fuel use, travel, and spend data you enter into the calculator.
Aggregated Data means data derived from multiple users, combined and anonymised so that no individual user or organisation can be identified.
Emission Factors means the DEFRA conversion factors applied to your Operational Data to calculate greenhouse gas emissions.
Self-Reported means that Outputs are based entirely on data you provide and have not been independently verified by a third party.
Emissio provides a software tool that enables businesses to calculate their greenhouse gas emissions and generate carbon reports. The service applies DEFRA conversion factors to Operational Data provided by you and produces Outputs formatted to align with recognised standards including the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform for your internal business purposes. This right is limited to the generation of reports for your own organisation unless you have a Partner agreement with us.
All Outputs generated by Emissio are Self-Reported. This means:
(a) Calculations are based entirely on Operational Data provided by you. DJRD Ltd does not independently verify, audit, or validate the data you provide.
(b) Outputs are not subject to third party verification or independent assurance unless you separately engage a qualified verifier.
(c) Every Output includes a clear methodology statement confirming that it is self-reported and identifying the Emission Factors and standards applied.
(d) DJRD Ltd accepts no liability for the accuracy of Operational Data provided by users.
(a) Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission calculations are highly accurate when based on actual meter readings, utility bills, and fuel receipts.
(b) Scope 3 supply chain estimates use DEFRA spend-based Emission Factors. These are indicative estimates only and may differ significantly from actual supply chain emissions. Every Scope 3 figure is clearly labelled as an estimate in all Outputs.
(c) Emission Factors are updated annually by DEFRA. Outputs reflect the factors applicable at the time of calculation. DJRD Ltd is not responsible for changes to Emission Factors after an Output is generated.
(d) The accuracy of any Output depends entirely on the accuracy of the Operational Data you provide. DJRD Ltd accepts no liability for errors resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or estimated input data.
(e) Where Operational Data fields are left blank, sector average defaults are applied and clearly labelled as estimates in the Output.
Emissio and its Outputs do not constitute professional advice. Nothing in our Outputs should be relied upon as legal, regulatory, financial, or compliance advice. You should seek independent professional advice before making decisions based on any Emissio Output, particularly in relation to:
(a) Regulatory compliance including CSRD, SECR, or other mandatory reporting obligations
(b) Government tender submissions under PPN 006 or similar frameworks
(c) Investor or client representations regarding your carbon footprint
(d) Net zero commitments or science-based targets
DJRD Ltd accepts no liability if an Output generated by Emissio is rejected by a procurement team, regulator, auditor, investor, or any other third party. The acceptance of a self-reported carbon report is at the sole discretion of the receiving party. We strongly recommend seeking independent verification if your Output will be used for formal compliance purposes.
(a) Outputs are paid for on a per-report basis. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. Your contract with us is formed when payment is confirmed.
(b) Once an Output has been generated and made available for download, no refund will be provided. This is consistent with Regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which provides that the right to cancel does not apply to digital content where the consumer has expressly consented to delivery beginning before the cancellation period has expired.
(c) If a technical error prevents delivery of your Output, please contact us at hello@emissio.tech and we will resolve the issue promptly or provide a full refund.
(d) All prices are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
We may use anonymised Aggregated Data derived from multiple users for the following purposes: improving the accuracy of our sector defaults, publishing industry benchmarks and reports, and improving the Emissio platform generally.
Aggregated Data does not identify any individual user or organisation. We will never publish or share data in a way that could identify your business or your specific carbon figures.
The Emissio platform, including its calculation methodology, software, design, and content, is the intellectual property of DJRD Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform or methodology without written permission.
Outputs generated using your Operational Data belong to you. You may use them for any lawful business purpose.
You retain all rights to the Operational Data you provide. We do not claim ownership of your data.
Your use of Emissio is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using Emissio you agree to our Privacy Policy.
Operational Data you enter is stored securely and used only to generate your Output. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data to train artificial intelligence models.
Where you require a formal Data Processing Agreement — for example if you are a larger organisation with specific procurement requirements — please contact hello@emissio.tech.
You agree not to use the Emissio platform to:
(a) Submit false or deliberately misleading Operational Data
(b) Generate Outputs for purposes of fraudulent misrepresentation
(c) Attempt to reverse engineer or extract our calculation methodology
(d) Use automated tools to access or scrape the platform
(e) Resell or white-label Outputs without a Partner agreement
DJRD Ltd will make reasonable efforts to ensure the Emissio platform is available at all times. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and accept no liability for losses resulting from platform downtime or technical issues.
Neither party will be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these terms where such failure or delay results from events beyond that party's reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, government action, pandemic, cyberattack on third party infrastructure, or failure of internet services. This clause does not apply to payment obligations.
DJRD Ltd reserves the right to update these terms at any time. The date at the top of this page indicates when these terms were last updated. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users by email where we hold your email address.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of the Emissio platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you have questions about these terms or wish to request a Data Processing Agreement, please contact us at hello@emissio.tech or by writing to DJRD Ltd, Registered in England and Wales.
